Keeping your personal information confidential
Customer Street takes its responsibilities regarding the confidentiality of your personal information very seriously. Our privacy policy is set out below.
If you use any of the services which Customer Street provides, you will be deemed to have consented to the collection and use of the personal information you submit to Customer Street in the ways described below. Therefore, please read this Policy with care and if you have any questions or comments, e-mail Customer Street at ad@customerstreet.com.
- In order for Customer Street to provide its services to you, including (but not limited to) domain name, website hosting and eCommerce services (the "Services"), Customer Street might ask you to provide it with certain personal information.
- Any personal information which is collected by Customer Street will be used by Customer Street only in accordance with current data protection legislation.
- Such personal information will be collected and processed by Customer Street or its agents for the following purposes:
- to provide the Services to you;
- administration; and
- marketing, advertising and promotions
- Collecting and processing your personal information for the above purposes might entail sharing the information with employees, contractors and professional advisers of Customer Street and/or the employees, contractors and professional advisers of other companies within the Customer Street group of companies and sending you unsolicited advertising and promotional material pertaining to other Customer Street products and services and to third party products and services selected by Customer Street. Where information is collected from you, you will be given the opportunity to inform Customer Street that you do not wish to receive such advertising and promotional material.
- In the event that Customer Street is acquired, the personal information Customer Street has collected will be considered as part of the company's assets and may, therefore, be transferred to a purchaser.
- From time to time Customer Street may wish to collect information of a sensitive personal nature from you. In such cases before Customer Street asks you for the information it will inform you of how it intends to use the information and it will ask for your explicit consent.
- You have the right to ask Customer Street for a copy of the personal information it holds about you (for which Customer Street may charge a small fee), and to correct any inaccuracies in that information.
- When you visit the Customer Street website, you may be sent a cookie. A cookie is a small file that may be placed on your computer's hard disk for record keeping purposes. It helps Customer Street to recognise you when you visit the Customer Street website and make use of the Services so that the information and content of the website can be tailored to your needs. Customer Street may also use cookies for the compilation of certain statistics relating to the use of the website which do not identify you personally. Such information may include the number of visits, average time spent, web pages accessed, services used and other statistics relating to the website. Where Customer Street does compile such statistics, it may aggregate these statistics for onward transmission to third parties. These statistics will not include any information by which you will be directly identifiable. You may set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether or not to accept it. (However, if you decide not to accept a cookie, some web pages might not function properly or you might not be permitted to access certain information in relation to the Customer Street website or to conduct online transactions).
- If Customer Street decides to change its Privacy Policy, it will post such changes on this page so that you are always aware of how Customer Street uses your personal information and in what circumstances it discloses it.
- As part of its duties as an ICANN accredited domain name registrar, Internetters act as Customer Street’s agent for domain name registration. Internetters is required to provide certain information about customers who register domain names with Customer Street to the relevant naming authority. This information will include personal data such as the customer’s name, address and telephone number. The relevant naming authority will make such information available to the public through publicly accessible directories of owners of domain names. It is a condition of the purchase of a domain name from Customer Street that the customer agrees to the transfer of his/her personal data to the relevant naming authority and agrees to the naming authority making that personal data available on a public database. Customer Street can provide its customers with details of the relevant naming authority on request.
- Customer Street reserves the right to pass on your personal information to any law enforcement agencies properly requesting it in connection with the commission of any offence once Customer Street is reasonable satisfied as to the circumstances surrounding the request.
